Medirion is a medtech startup based in Duisburg that is developing AI-supported thermography for the early detection of rheumatoid arthritis based on hand temperature. In about five minutes, a non-invasive individual temperature “fingerprint” is created, which algorithms evaluate – where early signs of inflammation are otherwise easily overlooked. Medirion aims to enable measurements within two weeks in order to meet the 2-week to 3-month window in which early therapy enables remission rates of over 70%. The combination of standardized measurement, machine learning, and strict hygiene/safety standards makes the approach practical. Medirion thus offers a solution for faster rheumatism diagnosis—a key to better patient outcomes and relieved healthcare structures.
